My parents and Biology teacher encouraged me to apply for the Proud of Them Youth
Awards. I’ve always been inspired looking at the multiple billboards across Grand
Cayman and Cayman Brac. Seeing young people being recognised, motivated me to
pursue the award; so that one day I could join their ranks. I have been a diligent student
throughout my academic journey, so I was confident I could compete for this award, and
seize the opportunity to motivate other young Caymanians along their own academic
journeys.

Throughout my high school career, I won many gold academic trophies that recognised
me as a high achieving student. I won the Top Student Award multiple times in my class,
which has emphasised my commitment, and the consistency of my academic
performance, over the years. I have also competed in multiple math competitions in
Grand Cayman and have participated in the KPMG Brain Bowl. Additionally, I applied for
the Dart Scholarship Programme and placed in the top 5, among 29 applicants.
I have just finished taking my exams (CXC’s) and I am now moving into the Dual
Enrollment Programme with the University College of the Cayman Islands (UCCI). I will
complete my Year 12 studies in Cayman Brac. In the future, I plan to take up Business
Administration and further my education in Accountancy in the UK. As a Proud of Them
Honouree in Cayman Brac, I will strive to be a role model to other students and to the
future generations who will be recognised with this prestigious award.
An interesting fact about me is that I participated in the Youth Parliament Debate in
March 2025. I was also recently inducted as the President for my Leos Club. Additionally, I
have been a dedicated participant of the Junior Achievement Programme. As a Proud of
Them Honouree, I want to give back to my community by encouraging youth to do their
best and to work hard to accomplish great goals, so they are able to succeed at
everything they aspire to achieve.
