In Summer 2013, my brother competed for Team Cayman in the Caribbean Junior
Amateur Golf Championship at North Sound Golf Course. I thought it would be cool to
represent my country in golf. So, from the age of 11, I started going to the driving range
every evening after school, as I aimed to improve - and beat my brother! I quickly became
hooked on learning the strategy, mental focus and discipline required to play golf. My
brother and I traveled overseas to compete at tournaments in Florida, Texas and
California. My game improved quickly and I was eventually chosen by the Cayman
Islands Golf Association to compete in the Caribbean Junior Amateur Championship.

My accomplishments include being the first junior golfer to win the 2016 U13 Caribbean
Junior Amateur Championship in Barbados, and 2018 U15 Caribbean Junior Amateur
Championship in Jamaica. I was Team Winner for the 2018 Caribbean Amateur
Championship Hoerman Cup at the North Sound Golf Club. Additionally, I was the April
2019 FCWT Boys 15-19 Winner at Shingle Creek, Orlando, Florida; May 2019 Winner Junior
Island Champions at North Sound Golf Club; and December 2019 HJGT National
Championship Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 Winner at Orange County Golf Club, Orlando,
Florida. I participated in the July 2020 PGA South Florida Junior Open at Naples Beach
Golgotha Club, in Naples, Florida.
I have also achieved several firsts for Caymanian golfers. This includes: in January 2022,
winning the Latin America Amateur Championships, hosted in Casa de Campo,
Dominican Republic. In April 2022, I played in The Masters at Augusta, Georgia; and also,
in July 2022, I competed and made the cut at the 150th Open at St. Andrews, Scotland. I
was awarded the bronze medal for making the cut.
I have also been recognised by the Cayman Connection Making Waves Awards (August
2022). To date, I've continued mentoring younger golfers by taking them out on the golf
course over weekends and holidays, for practicing our swing on the range, putting on the
greens or simply sharing words of motivation. Golf is a consistent and rewarding part of
my routine. Now that I have completed my college degree, my plan is to work towards
the PGA Tour status by entering certain tournaments and their Q-School in September
2025/2026. This can take up to three years but with perseverance and a dream, you can
accomplish anything you put your heart to. Golf has afforded me with friendships and
meaningful conversations. It's also taught me resilience and to always be up for a
challenge. I plan to continue inspiring Cayman's young golfers and advancing the sport.
