My academic journey began at Red Bay Primary School, where I got my first taste of

academic success. In Year 5, I was recommended for the position of Head Boy, a role

traditionally reserved for Year 6 students. Although I did not receive the position and was

instead appointed Senior Prefect; that experience ignited a drive within me to pursue a

journey towards academic greatness and laid the foundation of my attitude and

approach to learning. Upon transitioning to John Gray High School (JGHS), my

understanding of academic excellence evolved beyond classroom achievements to

include academic competitions and community service.

Before the age of 16, I attained eight (8) CXC subject passes, including Math and English,

affording me the opportunity to widen my education. This feat would have been far more

difficult without the unwavering support of my parents, dedicated teachers and most

importantly, the grace of God. I have proudly represented JGHS in the wider community

as Deputy Head Boy (2024-2025). Notably, I earned 1st place for Best Speaker in the

prestigious Conyers Debate Tournament. My accomplishments also include: 1st place for

UCCI’s Black History Month Essay Competition, finalist in the Cayman Young Writers

Competition, recognition as Top Male Business student with a 96% average and

certification as a Microsoft Associate.

I am currently in the process of transitioning from JGHS to St. Ignatius Catholic School

where I will study English Literature, History, Psychology and Accounts. By the grace of

God, I aim to continue growing as a student; through broadening my extracurricular

interests to encompass new clubs and competitions, while strengthening the depth of

my knowledge in subjects I enjoy.

An interesting fact about myself is that I am extremely passionate about community

service. I currently serve as the Lieutenant Governor for the Junior Optimist International

(JOI) Caribbean District. This role allows me to give back to the community that has

nurtured my growth. As a Proud of Them Honouree, I hope to inspire others to strive for

excellence in academic and extracurricular pursuits. I know the journey is not always

easy, but I wish to make it better by offering encouragement, sharing my own

experiences and contributing the same high-level of support that I have been fortunate

to receive from my teachers, friends and family.
