My academic journey began at Cayman Prep & High School where I first developed a
deep interest in biomedical sciences. Inspired by my teachers, I developed a passion to
make significant contributions to the development of modern medicine. I began striving
for academic excellence from an early age. Through hard work, taking initiative in my
studies and participating in various STEM-related competitions, I have established myself
as an academic role model for Cayman's youth.

I am a proud recipient of the EY Academic Achievement Award and Dart Award for
Excellence in STEM. These are two of my greatest achievements; reflecting my
determination to continue excelling in STEM subjects, particularly Biology and Chemistry.
I have also been recognised on an international level with the COBIS Award for
Exceptional Academic Achievement. To reinforce my dedication to STEM fields, I have
participated in various competitions with successful outcomes - including the Minds
Inspired Robotics Competition, KPMG Brain Bowl, and the UK Maths Challenge.
I have just finished my A-Levels in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Spanish which
will support my transition to the University of Bristol. My academic journey will progress
as I focus on pursuing a degree in Biomedical Sciences, with an inclination for the
pharmacology and pathology modules within the course. At the end of my bachelor’s
degree, I want to take a PhD in Biomedical Sciences Research, focused on a topic like
vaccinology. Coming back to Cayman to work at a local hospital (in vaccine research and
development) would allow me to give back to the community and this is a goal that I
hope to achieve in the near future.
I am an avid linguist. I love travelling to increase my exposure to different languages like
Spanish, French and Mandarin. I am honoured to be a recipient of the Proud of Them
Awards and I plan to be actively involved in increasing student participation in scholastic
competitions and encouraging them to take an active interest in their academics; in
addition to being proud of their achievements.
